Aspen Indoor Climbing Walls

Red Brick Recreation Center: Climbing Wall

Located in downtown Aspen, the Red Brick Recreation Center is home to one of the best indoor climbing walls in Aspen. The gym offers 3,100 square feet of climbing surface with options for top rope, lead climbing, and bouldering. It's designed for all ages and ability levels.

Climbers can choose to go solo or sign up for classes tailored to both kids and adults. Training equipment includes pull-up bars, campus boards, TRX systems, and more—making it a great stop for experienced climbers looking to stay in shape or beginners eager to learn the ropes.

Operating Hours:

Winter: Monday to Thursday, 9:00 AM to 8:00 PM; Friday, 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM
Summer: Monday to Thursday, 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM; Friday, 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM

Rates: $32 (adults), $30 (children and seniors)

You must bring your chalk or purchase it at the front desk.

Aspen Recreation Center: Climbing Tower

One of the best Aspen summer attractions for indoor enthusiasts, the Climbing Tower at Aspen Recreation Center stands 32 feet high and welcomes climbers of all ages. Safety is a top priority here. The tower features four auto-belay devices, each offering a different level of difficulty so climbers can explore multiple lines. Daily admission includes climbing shoes, harnesses, and on-site staff assistance during scheduled times.

Operating Hours:

School Year: Monday to Friday, 3:30 PM - 6:00 PM; Saturday and Sunday, 12:00 PM - 6:00 PM
Summer, Winter Break & Spring Break: Daily, 12:00 PM - 6:00 PM​

Indoor Climbing Walls in Snowmass

Limelight Hotel Snowmass Climbing Wall

Snowmass has two impressive rock climbing walls—one for summer at the top of Elk Camp and an all-season indoor wall at the Limelight Hotel in the Snowmass Base Village. 

The indoor wall is 54 feet tall, making it the tallest indoor climbing wall in Colorado.  With three self-belay routes that allow multiple climbers at once—two that reach the full height of the wall and a shorter one ideal for beginners.

Climbing shoes, harnesses, and guided supervision are included with each 30-minute session. A favorite for après-ski families looking for an engaging evening activity, especially when the mountain winds down but the kids still have energy to burn.

Operating Hours:

Daily, 5:00 PM - 8:00 PM
Summer (Jun 16 - Aug 31): Everyday except Tuesdays & Thursdays, 5:00 PM – 8:00 PM
Early Fall (Sep 1 - Sep 29): Thursday to Sunday, 5:00 PM – 8:00 PM

Rates: $10 per 30-minute session

Please note that all climbers must sign a release of liability waiver, and an adult must accompany children while climbing. The minimum height to climb is 36 inches.
